Cover Letter
Below is an example of a cover letter I wrote for a modelling artist position, I was interested on writing a cover letter for a environmental FX artist however as I've already modelled quite a bit in comparison to environments I decided to go with a modelling artist role.

RE: Modelling Artist Job Application

Dear Mr Stephens,
Hope you are doing well, my name is Jaber Imran and I am writing this letter in regards to the modelling artist position. I am currently a Visual Effects BA (Hons) student at the University of West London and will be completing the degree summer this year. Over the past few years at West London University I have completed several Visual Effects projects a few examples are compositing, modelling characters, environments, rigging, texturing, DMP (digital matte paintings), etc. I have acquired more knowledge than I could ever have imagined, I have gained and developed many skills using industry software’s like Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, zBrush and Nuke to name a few. I’d best describe myself as ambitious, hard working, dedicated and creative; and feel as though these attributes suit the role of a modelling artist. From all the knowledge I’ve gathered during my time at UWL studying Visual Effects, I’d consider myself a great asset to your team should you choose to recruit me. I strongly believe that anything I set my mind to I will accomplish to the best of my ability, and this is an opportunity I yearn for.
Prior to studying at UWL and during my time here I have worked within numerous groups taking part in tasks and overcoming obstacles and challenges which I have conquered along the way. I feel as though I’m able to flourish when it comes to meeting deadlines, as I’ve demonstrated on multiple occasions with my university deadlines understanding the importance of time management and planning ahead of time. I’m always keen on learning new skills to further enhance my visual effects skills as well as taking on constructive criticism to further better my ability.
I believe I have gained a tremendous amount of beneficially knowledge within the visual effects industry and have natured all my skills to finally begin working in the professional field of visual effects. My work ethic and focus are my two strongest attributes and I would love nothing more to bring my expertise to the team. I’d like to thank you for taking your time to read and hope to hear from you soon.
Your Sincerely
Jaber Imran
